The “wrath of God” can be difficult for us to understand from a human point of view. If God’s nature is considered first, we understand that wrath is God’s holy reaction to evil. Unlike us, God is capable of intense wrath and intense love at the same time, which is seen at Calvary—the wrath of God against sin poured out on Jesus, because God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
