In the famous parable of “The Prodigal Son”—or perhaps more aptly “The Good Father”—suffering and the father’s goodness and provision drive the younger son to repentance. Your heavenly Father isn’t waiting for you to get it all together. If you will “floccinaucinihilipilificate” your “pig pods” of money, self, social status, or whatever you’re looking to sustain you, and turn toward Him, He longs to run to you and offer you a place in His family.
